After their work in China, Rev. Zimmer served as minister in Erie, PA, Akron, Ohio and lastly in Ashland, Ohio to two rural churches--a form of circuit rider. Rev. Zimmer suffered poor health and died soon after in 1958. Meanwhile, Mrs. Zimmer became a teacher and counselor in the Ashland School District, Ashland, Ohio until she retired and moved to New Jersey to live with one of the twins where she passed away in 1995.
